>>39102177>I can't wait to hear how they're so much worse than goddamned Goldeen and Finneon. Throw out your shitty argument, make my day.>GoldeenFirst of all, as befitting a proper Pokemon, it is based on a myth/cultural occurrence.
>Its horn may be based on Matsya, an avatar that the Hindu god Vishnu assumed, which is sometimes depicted as a fish with a horn.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/be/Picture_of_Matsya_Avatar-_Fish_incarnation_of_Lord_Vishnu.jpghttps://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d4/The_fish_avatara_of_Vishnu_saves_Manu_during_the_great_deluge.jpgSecond of all, its emphasis on being beautiful ad its obvious white and orange coloration clearly establishes it as at least partially based on koi.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/06/Koi4.jpgJust as it is based on goldfish (and a particular kind at that; a Japanese species)
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/97/Ryukin_goldfish_plate.jpghttps://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dd/Tamasaba_or_Sabao.jpgAs you can see here, it has a stunning amount of detail drawn in here. The fins are delicately traced like a dandy's blouse, its coloration painted like powder. Its body is an uncommon egg shape, and it has lips that aren't just a cheerio. And a nice detail you'd overlook is that its tail fin is not to swim side-to-side, like actual fish, but up-down, like mammals.
Its evolution is just as intricate, and adds the Tigerfish to the mix, showing its predatorial turn.
