I've had a bad stretch of luck since I took Morty on, losing two mons clearing him and his gym out and two more not long after. Granbull fell to the last gym trainer in Morty's gym, dying to a Drifblim's Aftermath, then Heracross fell against his Sableye when I didn't even think about Aerial Ace and he got OHKO'd.
So after that I decided to head to Tohjo and get an overlevelled catch there for later, bad move, my Tentacool got OHKO'd by my catch, a Quagsire, using Aqua Tail after he had set up a Barrier. Caught the Quagsire, which I'll hopefully get to use against Jasmine shortly.
Then I headed down to Cianwood, getting a Wailmer, Doduo, Corsola and Clamperl on the way, and missing a Miltank on Route 39 when it nearly killed Umbreon with Rollout and wouldn't be caught, then headed back to grind up my team for Chuck, when I ran into another Miltank.
Thinking it would be some easy exp, I send Donphan in, confident that Rock Smash would win the battle, when it proceeded to Bide on me. The first Rock Smash did around 50% damage, so I thought that the second would kill it and I'd be safe, when the second one managed to fail to OHKO and leave it on or near 1HP. I tried to run, but Donphan just didn't have the speed, and was killed by the Bide.
So I've brought Breloom back on to the team to take Heracross' spot, with Lanturn, Scizor and Togepi being added for good coverage. Just grinding team up to 34-35 and heading back to take Chuck on.
