>>24804852There is a variant called "mutant rule" that allows you to evolve any basic pokémon into a phase 1, and any phase 1 into a phase 2 - as long as its type stays the same.
We use the usual evolution rules, though. You'll have to draft the actual chain if you want to play them. There are more cards on the lower ends in the cube so it works out quite well if you really want something.
