I lost my original starter, Venusaur, due to the Link Cable being a piece of garbage that fell out of the gameboy color super easily. Me and my brother traded starters so we could get their Pokedex entries whenever they evolved. To make it up to me, he traded me what he thought was the rarest Pokemon he had at the time, which was Magmar. I had only just gotten to Erika's gym so I quickly took to Magmar because lol type advantage. Been one of my favorites ever since.
