I was so looking forward to discovering what Eternatus was and the conditions under which I'd meet something so bizarre and grimdark. Come to find myself railroaded toward it, battling it without any nuance whatsoever because after being careful not to knock it out "YOU CAN'T THROW A POKE BALL" and then thinking for a a brief moment "Alright, cool. It has to get big first" only to get stuck with two overpowered NPCs carrying the entire battle for me with cheerful triumphant music blaring despite what should be a horrifying abomination looming above us with what should be every advantage and then being verbally prompted by Hop who has every reason to want to catch Eternatus himself to throw my damn pokeball for a guaranteed catch. I just feel so goddamn disappointed by this moment in the game, holy shit. The game played itself. Nothing I did was important here and then I got rewarded for it, it felt like I was playing a really horrible game of DnD with someone's NPC Mary Sues doing all the gameplay for me. To cap it all off my mons were inexplicably healed despite taking a beating up to this point, because why not? Why should I have to concern myself with resource management and taking care of my own dudes?
I seriously miss having to delve into a big-ass dungeon and bring potions and the right HMs to get to a boss fight against a legendary that actually put up a fight against your goddamn stock of poke balls. Why did they do this?
