Look guys, I'm Portuguese and I get it. We get taught at school from a young age that Portugal was massively culturally relevant and important and we have this sense of national pride and relevance, so it's really hurtful when we interact with people outside of Portugal that haven't got a fucking clue about anything Portuguese. I know the little map in-game showed the entire peninsula, but can you imagine them just putting a bunch of fucking mountains to the west of spain and blocking that area off?
Sure, there might be one or two little towns and some country routes through the area where Portugal would be. A little reference here or there, maybe a Galo de Barcelos pokemon, but that's it. At most, it will feature a tiny bit as a side attraction, with one or two pokemon TOPS based around Portuguese culture and a little town or two, but don't fool yourselves and spare your dignity - This game is about SPAIN.
