It's the smile. I've never felt too strongly about Slowbro, just thought he was neat. The concept of Funbro is hellishly hilarious, and I always like seeing the old guy get some competitive use (early BW Blaziken days were great for him). The biggest thing about the Mega that bothers me is that his trademark vacant smile is gone. I can't get past that, for me it's one of the Pokemon's defining features.
