I wonder why both fights against bug nerd are right before a gym leader. Maybe I would've had more sympathy for him with his vanilla team, where he had Butterfree as his ace. Later on though, it looks like he ditches that poor guy, which would've made him even more of a piece of shit than he already is. Like before, he could've just made some field that buffed it a lot somehow.
