>>21082755It really depends on the effort the voice actor puts into it. For every terrible example of pokevoices you can think of there's a good one somewhere along the line. Pikachu is the best example, if you pay attention it actually has specific terms for different things, whenever it's referring to Ash ("Sato-shi" in japanese) it says "Pika-pi". Charizard in japanese is excellent too, he basically makes roaring noises but subtly alters the roar a bit at the end so it sounds like part of it's japanese name "Lizardon". Of course I can think of many examples of the japanese dub being terrible with poke-speak too but I'm just saying it doesn't HAVE to be all terrible.
