True satisfaction comes from maximizing your options, doing things efficiently, and navigating challenges that the developer sets up for you. Satisfaction comes from meeting a difficulty curve with creative strategy.
There is no satisfaction from using an unevolved Weedle that takes inordinate damage from all attacks and soft resetting until you encounter a time when the dumb AI uses tail whip 4 times in a row. You're not meeting any kind of difficulty curve when you do that. You aren't figuring anything out. You aren't having any eureka moment when the mechanics of the game click. You are just telling your level 56 unevolved Weedle to use Poison Sting, and still beating the game.
How hard is it to ask GF to add a challenge mode where the AI selects efficient moves, all important trainers carry 6 pokemon, and enemies carry an array of types that challenge you to respond with appropriate type matchup?
