MOREOVER. on personalities. personalities are collections of experiences and individual qualities that form a distinct set of behaviors that make you, you. i admit i'm leaning into darwinism a bit here, but i digress. such traits that would make a good gardevoir wife wouldn't be naturally occuring as they don't serve any purpose in the wild. which means that any personality she has, imho, would be as a result of your influence on her life. whether you found her sad and lonely as a ralts, or you got one of those genetically engineered humanshaped gardevoirs with big tiddies, neither of these individuals would have a human-compatible personality until AFTER it had come into contact with you. as such, your behaviors and the way you treat her directly influence how she treats you, thus, you exert changes onto her, conciously or no. thus, all gardevoir wives are the Murasaki to your Genji.
tl;dr you are in fact in control of your gardevoir wife through your responsibility to her to keep her safe, regardless of your intention, and her personality is directly influenced by yours. no personality traits that develop in the wild are compatible with being an equal to a human, and as such are groomed into them by their partners. the best you can do is be the man she needs you to be so that her life is satisfying and happy.
