>>28601167There are literally 6 rental passes. That's 36 out of the 493 existing Pokémon across 6 preset teams.
The first Stadium (the Japanese one) had 42 usable Pokémon. Stadium 2 (our first Stadium) has 151 Pokémon for rental, and you can choose your team however you want. Stadium GSC (our Stadium 2) had all 251 Pokémon at the time for rental.
The Stadium series had minigames as well. Battle Revolution didn't.
The Stadium series had GB Tower, which let you play your Gen I and II games on your TV, with the option of having your speed at 1x, 2x, or 3x. The closest Battle Revolution had was being able to use your DS as a controller during multiplayer battles.
The Stadium series had new Ken Sugimori art for all the characters. Battle Revolution had 3D renders of random nobodies.
The Stadium series let you battle known Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, your rivals, Red, and Team Rocket, among the myriad of returning Trainer classes. Battle Revolution had practically nothing to connect it to the handheld games other than the fact that you needed them to have any sort of fun with it.
Battle Revolution was also downgraded before it was released. Look at the dynamic camera and lasting battle damage from moves that was not in the final build.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djMyzIiYENoSure, Battle Revolution had Mystery Gift support, but Stadium GSC did as well. Stadium GSC also had the Trainer school that put you through test battles with a given set of Pokémon to encourage you to use strategies to overcome them (like facing teams that lower your accuracy and raise their evasiveness).
Battle Revolution also reused most Gen I to III Pokémon models.
I never had one of those N64 Transfer Paks that let you use your GB and GBC games with Stadium, but I still enjoyed the Stadium games far more than Battle Revolution even when I could actually connect to the latter.
