It took him around ten or so adventures to drive home the point that he was hot shit, but he finally found the power to do it.
Literally, he carried you two battles and roughed up the third for your next Pokemon. That's.. probably the best track record a single Pokemon has ever had for any battle you've ever been in. He just went in there, exerted everything he had bottled up over his days as a feisty Noibat, and...went fucking anal.
And it worked. If it wasn't for him, if he had decided today to just not give it his all, he would have fainted again in one hit like always, and you'd be right now in this moment, trying to command Chesnaught to do something to Drasna's Noivern that doesn't involve yelling randomly.
Noivern wraps himself in his wings as he plummets in a spiral downfall, surrounded by falling stars and the like. He sings his last note as he crashes to the floor, the other apple he had intended on eating having fallen in the explosion.
