I think there’s no denying that before 2019, the Pokémon company preferred not to showcase Unova, but ever since Unova has been the main secondary region to get these little nods and references, as well as new forms and dex representation. This happens to coincide with the time period where Unovafags became more vocal and the individuals who hate Unova gave up hating (just a general trend that time), which makes sense from a business standpoint. As a Unovafag, you’d think this makes me happy, and sure it does to a small extent. But there’s a strange bittersweet feeling about it. I feel the devs will think “oh, we already gave them new things” and proceed to cuck Unova of an actually good remake with effort, and that that’s why they’re feeding Unovafags well now.
