ELEMENTAL EMBODIMENT
Most of us tend to see the Types as being this.
>fire>water>ground>ice>steel>electricENDOWED QUALITY // HOW THEY BEHAVE IN BATTLE
This tells us something about the way a Pokémon moves around, of what things it can do, or how it does them.
>dark (more about tricky and cruel behavior)>flying (if it focused more on air manipulation, it would be elemental. But Flying mostly describes things with an airborne quality.)>psychic>normal>fightingSPECIES // PHYSICAL COMPOSITION
Describes what SORT of organism it is.
>dragon>rock>bug>fairy>ghost (also good in the Elemental category because they control shadows)>grass (generally are plant life. somewhat elemental; they embody and control nature.)NOT SURE
Poison's sort of an 'element', but a very non-traditional one. I'd personally put it in the middle category.
The Types all have arguments to be made for being in all 3 of these categories. But they fit more in one. For example Normal fits in Elemental because it represents Typeless energy, and Species because they are usually mammalian. But Normal Types are more define by the 'normal' way they behave, so they go in the skills/behavior category.
