How does this sound for implementing the golems via minor changes?
- Each admin is given a golem
- Eronze is the only purely ancient one, erion and erace are either both artificial, based on eronze, or are both upgraded ancient golems, or erion is upgraded and erace is purely modern
- For most of the plot, the golems are not sentient, and are more like tools then pokemon, though they are still battled and such, obviously
- The spirits represent natural cycles: Plants and animals being born from the nutrients of dying things, and then dying themselves, giving rise to new life/going back into the earth/water/air, the water/mineral/erosion cycles, etc, and this is why they are ghost type
- The reason the ET needs the spirits or their essence or whatever is because quetzar sealed itself away because man misused it's gifts and disrupted the balance between civilization and nature, since quetzar represents change and stagnation, etc. The golems and the spirits/their essence together "tricks" the sleeping quetzar into thinking technology and nature has harmonized. When quetzar wakes up, it gets angry seeing that isn't the case
- Quetzar's power over progress and advancement breaks the golems out of the ET's control, they become sentient, the spirits or their essence are freed, and the golems run off, the spirits either return to their homes or they just reform there in case the ET never directly captured them to begin with
This explains why the spirits are needed to awaken quetzar, how the golems are going to be encountered (since now they broke free and are either roaming, roaming a certain location, or hanging out somewhere), and gives some thematic backstory to the legendaries that matches what we voted in in the backstory survey
I also need some ideas of how exactly the events in the plot will be changed to make sure this happens.
