It just Venusaur had a lot of misfortune in Gen1.
- it had the worst movepool out of the three starters.
-Vine Whips comes longer comparing to Ember and Bubbles.
- the only poison moves it learned are Poison Powder and Toxic.
- No Earthquake while the other two had it.
- Solar Beam was mechanically unappealing compared to Hydro Pump and Flamethrower. It could have been better if it was like Dig or Fly.
- Venusaur best move was Razor Leaf because of a bug, which also comes too late.
- Vine Whip had low PP and it was Bulbasaur's only Grass move for the first half of the game.
- Made the strongest type of the game (Psychic) strong against it
- All three legendary birds are strong against it.
- Blue has a 5 out of 6 pokemon that has type advantage.
- Its sprites were all fucking awful.
Gamefreak destroyed Bulbasaur's future of being a lovable starter because of their bias towards the other two.
