I mean all megaevolutions are just your old pokemon with some flashy new features, it's like putting wings to Mazinger, Mazinger is still the same, but it has wings now.
But Charizard X looks more like some kind of redesign of the old Charizard, it doesn't feel like "the natural next step". It looks something totally different.
Call it Bahawhatever an make it a new pokemon, but as megaevolution is horrible.
