If you showed pictures of Gyarados and Rayquaza to someone who knows absolutely nothing about Pokémon and asked them questions like which monster they think is stronger, which one is "legendary" or which one is worshipped like a deity by people, I guarantee you their answer would be Gyarados 9 out of 10 times because Gyarados is far more impressive-looking and terrifying to behold than Rayquaza's modular, plastic action figure-looking ass.
