I play for fun, I lose battles and I win some, just like what OP said. I enjoy making my own sets; though I do ignore some unfairly attempts such as sleep cause and ubers. Seeing people who play this game competitively really makes me sad on how hard they're trying in this game and not experiencing what else game freak has to offer with other Pokemon; there are thousands of ways to build a single Pokemon and make it's set really unique. The fact that they follow tier lists really annoys me; infact that's what most of these competitive robots do in every game such as SF/ect.
tl;dr: Stop playing so competitively and try everything what Gamefreak has to offer to this game.
