>>55684170>So with one year of Horizons done, I got to wonder about the dual-protagonist aspect between Liko and Roy: Does it truly feel like a dual-protagonist relationship or is it just window-dressing to appease one side?I feel it is one-sided in the sense that you can tell Liko is the real main character here because the story is being shown from her perspective. Even in Journeys you couldn't 100% tell who the real MC was between Ash and Goh. That said, i feel like this anon is right
>>55684339>Liko feels like a character entirely hindered by her gender. Liko's character fits the type of writing you often see for girls in Pokemon although in a far more passive way, i would argue. The reason why Pokemon has boy and girl protagonists in most of their products is because Pokemon is a gender-neutral franchise that tries to appeal to both genders but at the end of the day, it can't be denied Pokemon is primarily focused on adventure, battling and catching which are qualities seen in boys and not girls by nature. This is why i feel Roy will end up being more benefitted from this than Liko by the time the show ends.
