I found Steel to be a fantastic type, because these Pokemon usually have a good defensive capability that can use to set-up for anything and its 10 resistances and 1 immunity also really helps.
But what I really love about the type is no matter what secondary type you put on it, the Steel-type always manages to find a way to balances its weaknesses out with new resistances. Scizor and Ferrothorn are great examples.
Except for Ice, but Ice is a shit type anyway
