At first I had high expectations (I even thought this was the introduction to Ash's replacement) but after some chapters, both characters seem boring and mediocre. Gou does not work as a successor or apprentice for Ash, it is just a walking commercial for "Pokemon Go" and Koharu is a terrible main girl, ironically Gou is better Pokegirl. I can't understand why the creatives strove to create original characters, if they already had good designs of the new games, whether they used Marnie and Hop or even Bea and Allestar could have been interesting as co-protagonists.
I sincerely hope that the staff realizes that this is not working and manages to redesign the project from another angle, since the plot of Ash entering a tournament of world classifications is promising and if it is well constructed that would give a good closure to the character.
