Kalos has great exploration because Route 13 has a sense that it's bigger and also being bewildered by the rail obstacles and the wind, plus those arena trap wild Pokemon chasing you also added to the feel of a much tougher exploration. Simple paths can ware you down when your focused on other challenges.
