Nearly 150 original, consistently good pokemon that are in that perfect range between "real life creature" and "fantastical creature"? Ninjask, Shedinja, Delcatty, Breloom, Masquerain, Gardevoir, Slaking, Sabeleye, FUCKING AGGRON, Banette, Medicham, Manectric, Sharpedo, Camerupt, Cacturne, Altaria, Zangoose, Claydol, the fossils, Metagross, Flygon, Dusclops, Milotic, Shiftry, Salamence, Absol? You can't tell me those are even 50/50 on the shit scale.
Even the worst mons in gen 3 like Wailord, Grumpig, Chimecho, Tropius, even if they're forgettable at worst, are at least APPEALING in a way where you go "I could see how someone could be okay with this design. It's at least designed professionally and as well as the idea can be" unlike something thrown together and ugly like Mr. Mime or Rhyperior.
To rant on further, gen 4, while not my favorite, gets a lot of shit for the memes. Most of the evos aren't even bad slightly, and the starters for gen 4 are debatably the best looking and least-hateable overall.
