I think Amour resonates with people because it's cute and innocent love. Ash and Serena are young kids without any ulterior motives and without years of bagged or bad relationships. Because she's cute and has emotional depth. I do wish she was a more active battler though. Considering how good the animation was in XY, Serena could have theoretically had the best battles for a female lead in the series.
