My brother was a Pokemon Master.
Would figure out everything there was in the game and fly through it.
National Dex, battling, breeding, contests, everything.
He was my rival.
One of these moments was when we were playing Ruby and Sapphire. He needed one last Pokemon line to complete it all. I needed like, a few more. It was a race.
It was storming, and he had his Sp plugged into the wall charging, and just as he is about to catch the Jigglypuff he needs, the lights explode and his Gameboy shuts off from the lightning.
This crushed him. He lost all of his hours upon hours of work. Even though I finished my dex and beat him, I deleted my file because it was fair. All my work too, gone.
That was his climactic moment. He would never invest himself into any game like that again.
Mine was when I first finally beat him in Diamond.
He used the strongest and best strategies to pummel me and teach me. The one time I finally beat him, he gives me a Claydol he bred for me. My favorite Pokemon.
I was finally the 'Champion."
He is gone now. I'll never know how he died, or ever know if he really is dead, but I hold his title, and always will.
