In contrast, Pinnister's designer D.I. decided to have his fake evolutions keep the clown/acrobat motif and and a strongman vibe as Gigglio (he said a friend gave his midevo that questionable name) evolves into Pinnister. Though he states it's partially designed after evil clowns, its actual personality is good-hearted and nothing them, with the two aspects combining to fit Pinnister being part-Fighting according to him.
Pinnister would probably look a little more sea lion-like if it wasn't usually standing on its tail, but it's probably a case of only doing it during battle since D.I. said it has the body strength to do so for extended periods of time in contrast to the canon Popplio line who only do it for a couple of moments.
