Damage calculators on pokemon showdown are unfair and should be taken down and anti calculator measures should be put in place. It amazes me that people use these without any issue whatsoever.
When you use a damage calculator, you are relying on a program to give you information you could not ever possibly know. That information is used to transform an uncertain move that might cost you big if done incorrectly into a clear cut sure answer you can make correctly. You are being aided by an outside source to make your decisions much better. This is no different then having a computer tell you if you should make a move or not when you weren't sure what would happen. I have seen time and time again very crucial game determining turns decided correctly thanks to the damage calculator.That calculator was the difference between a win or a loss or a huge blunder in the gameplay.
Extremely high level gameplay in pokemon heavily relies on knowing some crucial exact calculations of damage of your pokemon vs the tier. This is knowledge that you shouldn't have and it is a major backbone behind your high level decisions. If you do not have the damage calculator, you WILL play differently. And if you win with the damage calculator you can't say it was on your skill alone. You needed the calculator to win. None of your victories using the damage calculator to win should count. It's cheating. Plain and simple.
Furthermore, for fucks sake, BAN hidden power. Hidden power is something we were never ever supposed to figure out how to manipulate and it has created an extremely unrealistic metagame that relies on it. This means we aren't playing the actual meta. We're playing the tool assisted never should have existed Hidden power meta. No more electrics with HP ice. Enough of HP fire for scizor. Just stop. Fuck hidden power.
