>The Amie affection meter and the happiness stat are more closely tied.Raising Amie affection also slightly raises happiness. For Sylveon you'd still need 2 hearts and a fairy move but it'd also make this easier to get espeon/umbreon/other happiness evos.
>Pertaining to the dex and new pokemon-Maybe a handful of new pokemon to fall under the gen 6 umbrella to bring the total amount to maybe 120 new mons or so. Said new pokemon would also have a bigger presence in the dex so the regional dex would probably be around 350 or so. Primarily new mons with equal representation from the other gens, with an expanded dex in the postgame.
-More Mega Evolutions for pokemon that actually need them, but you don't get access to the mega ring/stones until postgame.
-More straight up evos to old mons coupled in with the shipment of new pokemon. Perhaps making them utilize some of the other gimmicky methods of evolution like levelling up in certain places, having [x] type in the party, etc.
>Story, region, characters, etc-Story is lighthearted and simple but with more mature undertones and themes. that olde rplayers could pick up on.
-Focusing on a few core characters and fleshing them out throughout the story. e.g. gym leaders/E4 shown to have lives outside of battling, Champion, professor, and evil team leader elaborated on with more of a presence in the plot.
-Rival with a variable character. Remember how in Yellow if you won or lost against Gary at certain points decided what he evolved his Eevee into? Imagine that, but it also affects their character as well. Have a few battles scattered throughout the game where you don't black out if you lose. If you consistently lose, their overall team will end up being easier and they take on a mentor role, if the matches are close it turns into a friendly rivalry, and if you constantly curbstomp them they develop antagonistic feelings toward you and become progressively harder.
