I mean think about it, even though he doesn't even know Ash that well, he's still quite hasty to reveal that he's the gym leader, even Bonnie, who you'd expect to brag about her big brother's status, doesn't mention anything either. It's kind of weird. It could be that he'd be embarrassed to tell anyone that he, an intelligent inventor, has had his own creations turn on him.
I also found something off with Clemont not using any Electric-type mons in his battle with Ash, it only gets stranger when he tells Ash that he just caught the Bunnelby too.
What if he caught it because the robots took his gym Pokemon hostage and he's trying to make up a new team to take vengeance?
