Anyone who says they 100% believe in truth and says ideals are pointless are oversimplying and misunderstanding things. Here's an example of why they both matter and rely on each other.
It is a truth that a human will on average die at 80 years of age. But in the past, the average human lifespan was decades shorter. The truth back then was around 60 years if you're lucky. Why the change? It is simply ideal for us to live longer, and so human ideals advanced medical technology to the point where they altered the truth.
