>>48561237They were cool at time, but I never liked how they affected teambuilding, every team had to have a mega or you were shooting yourself in the foot. I never liked that if you had a crappy mega like Steelix or Audino then you were pretty much fucked forever. The distribution of them sucked too, that how you end up with memes like Flygon never getting a mega. Megas were like pokemon's version of rosterfagging in smash and I don't mean that as a good thing.
And then there were the designs. Some were cool, like Lucario, but then again Mega Lucario was just Lucario with more shit drawn on the already neat design, and that's what a lot of megas were, just more shit tacked on the design. I felt that Gamefreak had no clue on how to actually upgrade the pokemon. Some concepts were nice like Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Pinsir and Mega Medicham, but then you also had pure garbage like Aggron and Heracross, Mega Heracross might be the worst design of all. Ugly ass Pinocchio face, loses wings, fat arm cannons for some reason? It's shit.
