It'd be kinda weird to finally bring back Mega Evolutions, only for some to be excluded.
I can see the Hoenn Legendary trio appearing in Kalos' postgame. Kinda like how the Unova Forces of Nature randomly appeared in Hisui.
There is a non-zero chance that PLZ-A only has the X and Y Megas, plus new ones, but again it'd be really odd to exclude ORAS Megas.

Me. Been picking Grass since I started Pokemon.
Part of it also came from having friends as a kid who would pick the other starters. One took Fire, one took Water.
Grass ones always tended to be my favorite though, so it works out.
