Anon making the TCG RPG here. I wanted to get some opinions about something. There were initially a few people who were pretty vocal about not mixing old cards with new ones, but with enough errata, I think it'll work fine. I've already errata'd most of the old Base Set trainer cards to match the modern Supporter/Item dynamic and deal with most of the particularly broken combo enablers. Base Set Machamp, for example, and a bunch of other Base Set cards, were re-imagined and rebalanced in Evolutions, but it's clearly intended to be the same card. See for example:
