It's a mixed bag for me. It's certainly a cool design, in a way that's visually striking. It's also a very distinct and memorable design, to the point where even its silhouette is easily recognizable. However, I feel that it's too on the nose in regards to how it conveys the idea of electricity. It goes the very obvious route of making the Pokemon yellow/black and jagged, which is fine, but it ends up making Zapdos look too busy and bulky as a result. This is especially an issue since Zapdos is clearly meant to be a very swift, powerful bird, yet it's jagged design doesn't convey this very well, making it look more like a bulky sort of tank (though, ironically, this is actually how its used nowadays, so that might not be the worst thing). Overall a decent design.

It's a Gen I mon that's OU even now, what more do I have to say? Its stats, typing, and moveset just come together in a way that makes it both a joy to use, and a monster when used well. While its typing is no longer unique, it still manages to carve out its own niche thanks to the tools it has access to along with its specific stat layout. Easily the best of the three birds in this department.
