>>41229735There were some nice tracks like the clothing shop one or the theme that plays in the town where the hill drawing is (I forgot the name) and I do quite like the gym leader theme (until the chanting begins, it was hype in the gym, but it falls apart when I listen to it casually), but everything else is either subpar, doesn't fit the setting at all like the mine theme or the elevator one where you fight all those grunts or is just plain bad (those synth trumpets are not ZUNpets by any stretch of the imagination). Easily the weakest OST in the series.
I've always had the belief that no matter how bad a game is, you just can't fuck up the music, even the worst Sonic games have great tracks in them. Here, however, I don't even feel that they tried or they wanted to do some experimental stuff like using wolf howls for the legendaries's theme or putting the crowd chanting directly into the theme, but it all falls flat on its face and it comes out as an utter mess.
I also find it very fucking hilarious how hard Toby trolled GF by putting an mpreg shitpost song in a main series pokemon game. God speed, you magnificent bastard.
