Despite Jeeves being one battle away from evolving into Infernape, in hindsight I really shouldn't have fought that Girafarig despite the level gap. Or maybe I could have, were it not for the fact that a retaliatory Psybeam scored a crit.

Scraped through Wave's Floatzel after Ice Punch and Crunch proved particularly troublesome, and managed to get past Barry at Canalave despite how thoroughly infuriating his Heracross and Roserade were. Now, having just picked up a few new catches, it's back to the grind for my recently-acquired Gyarados and Gastrodon. Good nature for the former, and I need a Ground-type for the gym in the case of the latter, so it looks like I'll be hunting Gravelers.
Here's hoping I don't lose anybody else. Though I've probably just jinxed myself there.
