>>26727724Rather than try not to make your character sound like a dick, you could try to make the audience feel like his emotion is reasonable. You could push your character virtues (Protective, Brave) so far that they become vices (Attacking and Arrogant). This way, even though the character is hurting other people, he's doing it out of a misguided sense of justice. This also sets up for the opportunity for character growth.
