No fun side activities like the Game Corner
No Major changes to combat besides the flavor of the month one button gimmick like Mega Evolutions or Z-Moves
No alternatives to battling like the Contests or the Pokeathalon
No large post game like a bonus region or the Battle Frontier that give the games more staying power
It's just go to point A to B, and a bonus 1 hour story for the post game. That's it. You'll play it once, then never want to play it again. Meanwhile Gen 3 and 4, I always want to go back to those games.
