No big advertisers want to touch this site, because no big brands want to be associated with it, that's why the boards were split in a desperate, misguided attempt to create a more advertiser friendly version of the site. Ain't gonna happen.
Self-serve ads are a great solution. A desperate one, but great. Anyone can shitpost to the entire site if they're willing to throw enough money at it, and that's entertaining as hell.
