Don't get me wrong, I wanted a new Sinnoh game rather than ulterior shitmakes, but the way they handled this was very pathetic.
They make a past pokemon game prequel set in sinnoh of all places, the most tied to vital past pokemon lore that also acts as a base for all others.
Its just 200 years in the past, cameras already exist, same pokeball/pokedex scheme as every other pokemon game.
The story adds nothing to the lore apart than human lore which ok, its entartaining and not bad at all, but, leaving out the fact that EVEN THAT its yet again the same exact "it all happened in antiquity" scheme as every other pokemon game, theres only one enemy in the game and the actual team galactic doesnt even exist nor make an appearance of any kind, not even their theme is present, and the only development of the pokemon is atrocious with those ugly as shit forms and the fact you cant even visit palkia and dialga dimensions, making it absurdly less profound than pokemon platinum.
A sequel wouldve worked much better especially in the context that they couldnt make an actual ancient game because they dont know how to make a game without pokeballs and pokedex. They couldve just made a sequel where dialga and palkia show visions of how the multiverse got created and of the Original One since theyre literal time and space.
