this game was the shit; i got a ps2 in mid-2008, and they were having a promotion where you basically got a game for two dollars when you got a console. wasn't really sure about this, but i figured, what the heck, if i don't like it it can be resold.
fun as hell, great exploration and action, rpg elements in levelling up yourself and your weapons, cool storyline in a neat sci-fi setting, funny dialogue, solid characterization, and has an achievement system and unlockables, as well as what's probably a pretty comfy multiplayer mode; i never actually got anyone to play with, though, as either i only had one controller or nobody came over.
it's just that my sibling broke it somewht when he borrowed it and he lost some cords that are essential in getting it to turn on.
erugh.
never played the newer ones because i never got a ps3. not enough money. still an excellent game, though.
