I actually didn't mind her when I first got into Pokémon and I'm aware of her lore like her missing mother who went searching for Mew or her various hairstyles and stuff. Perhaps the character in terms of how she developed in later parts of the series can irk me but she actually does have good scenes to this day.
It's more like I hate her fanbase who latch onto her as if she's the only legal Pokégirl that isn't a player's mother that serves as correct fapbait. There are other adult Pokégirls and really it's doing a disservice to Jessie if the most prominent redeeming quality you have on-hand is "she's over 18". If you're going to like this character, at least appreciate what the character does instead of trying to claim a high-ground over a part of the fanbase that faps to player characters and some gym leaders.
