probably not my best showing but i've began to really start digging through my backlog while waiting for vanguard and just wanted to continue playing through lunacid kek
so, i'm just gonna stop and review here
maybe i could've gotten bingo off of 'lampshading shit design' with some comments, but eh
>The Good
The game's presentation is really fucking good.
Tilesets look good, music is excellent, etc. Only thing I can say is that the battles themselves look pretty jank, especially the spritework and the battle backgrounds. I've seen the screenshots for Project Goetia, what this game is going to rebrand into, and...yeah, the fights in that don't look good, but that's really early shit I think
I also really like the IDEA behind this game. On the surface, it sort of presents as this very survival-heavy RPG with lots of secrets and cool side shit. And, for the most part - it is fun to play when the formula works. Because there's no guides or anything for this game, and I can't use RPGMaker if I get lazy, it was a very nice feeling of accomplishment when I actually found out some cool secret shit.
This also extends to the maps and fight design - it's again usually not over the top, and doesn't try to be especially tryhard. You're usually given enough resources and any decent team is strong enough to make it through any encounter, but not to the point where it just plays itself. It's balanced pretty well in that regard.
Moving onto more of the neutral, I did appreciate this game's story - or at least, it is one of the lesser autistic 'le multiverse' plots I've seen in these games. I dunno if it's a good story, I kind of did stop halfway through, but it's serviceable.
While I did jerk off the MC, it really is just because he's a competently written and not annoying character kek, which is just so rare. It was enjoyable playing as someone who isn't comically emotional and whiny like Vanguard or a piece of cardboard like SS2.
