>>51156506>What really impresses me more than anything is that even with a thread like this, and the ratio being as it is, Masters fans still aren't as insufferable as the fans from other games.Masters has its share of obnoxious waifu warriors, but thankfully they've all been exiled to /vg/. /pmg/ used to be unreadable thanks to all the psycho idol worshippers arguing over whether marnie or cynthia's feet smell worse.
>What I also don't get is why men just don't seem to self-insert at all in these games.I think they might not be capable of stepping outside themselves at all, even to the small degree that's required to self-insert into a mostly blank character. Self-hate is definitely a big part of it based on the interactions I've had with these types but on top of that I think the possibility that ANY male exists in proximity to their waifu, even one that's designed to self-insert into, is seen as a threat. Idol worshippers have always been like that, but the modern internet has made their delusions worse by instilling this weird obsession with cuckoldry into so many people. They're so afraid of getting cucked by imaginary characters that they have to be constantly vigilant and guard their waifu's honor or else they'll be accused by anonymous strangers of being a cuck, which somehow makes it real.
>>51157356>I kind of wish masters had straight "power couple" bonuses. They really need to give that to Kukui and Burnett, though I don't think it would work with any other characters. Maybe May and Brendan, but other than them none of these characters really have enough to them or enough interaction with each other to warrant something like that. To me it'd feel like the forced relationships you see in poorly written shonen, where characters who didn't have any element of romance in their stories are randomly paired off as a cheap way to add the illusion of character depth. Digimon repeatedly does this and it's annoying as hell.
