As is we have people constantly saying the bonds people and Pokemon share are truly genuine and beneficial to both, Plasma grunts all over the place being shown as generic bad guy grunts who don't give a shit about Pokemon, Ghetsis himself who doesn't care about the message at all, and N, who genuinely believe the message, but is set up as blindly following the belief while actively ignoring the bond the Mc shares with their Pokemon until he's forced to accept it by the end of the game.
Plasma isn't poorly written, not by a long shot, but they're not thought provoking if you put the teeniest bit of effort into dissecting how they were presented over the course of the narrative.
