The overall problem with Pokemon:
Generational Faults:
Older generations aren't willing to move on, and demand that they matter more, younger generations are used to be handed things and not being challenged.
This can be fixed, but it needs to be fixed on our collective level, and ultimately at a social level. I don't predict that Gen X'ers/Millenials will be able to do so until their 40's/50's...and even then it might not be possible.
But there is something we can do, to at least satiate our nature of Nostalgia, we can challenge our younger generations, and not hand everything to them. That is something that only we, in the older generations can do.
We need to challenge the younger generations, and make things less streamlined in terms of expectation, or else we're going to have a repeat when they are older of what we are, and what the Gen Y and Boomers are.
People who demand a certain thing, and refuse anything else but that.
Life ultimately isn't simplistic. You can't punch a tree to make wood, you won't always be able to go to the market to buy bread. Adding complexity to our younger generation ultimately isn't a bad thing, and will only make them grow as individuals, and in doing so will remind us of our own youth when we had to figure stuff out for ourselves.
End of topics.
