>>53281611Probably just resentment due to people pointing fingers at genwunner pandering for being the reason the series has been in a downward slump. Sequels rarely do better and pokemania wasn't going to last forever, so I find it irrational to blame the first game of the franchise or the success-prompted sequel for bad corporate decisions twenty years later.
The games are so similar in tone I don't understand the rift either.
