The whole “every pokedex holder has a talent thing” plot point much feels like it could’ve potentially been an interesting way for each trainer to have a different way of dealing with various in game pokemon mechanics but then it pivots in a different direction after the GSC arc and kinda loses its charm when you get things like the “The Loner” because the guy was a shut in or “The Saver” because the guy’s saving a lot of money. That’s not a talent, that’s a character trait.
